Flower Power – Tilly was eager to help us plant new flowers on our deck. When my husband and I were replanting the flowers, she came up to us to see what we were doing. She is incredibly curious, she inspected the soil, the flowers, the pots and the shovels.

Tilly’s Habitat – On sunny warm days, she adores being outside. Tilly lays in her pools of water and basks on her rocks. Every morning, usually after feeding time she tries to escape her indoor bin. Either my husband or I pick her up and place her outside. Then she walks over to wherever she wants to hangout. We want her to follow her instincts and have free will.

Green Eye – Tilly was ready for her close-up. This was the first close-up photo she allowed me to take without tucking her head back in her shell. The trust was founded. This is when the cooler weather was approaching and she was determined to explore our house. She walked around our office, bathroom, kitchen and living room. Smelling everything around her, I guess she wanted to know how us humans lived.

Chin Tickle – She was on my lap before bedtime and my husband was petting her head and chin which she loved. Since she wanted to explore outside and inside, we would check her before we put her to bed to make sure she was all clean.
Chill Time – Tilly cooling off in one her pools outside on a warm day. She was completely relaxed. She will switch it up during the day, between her many pools, the sun, and the shade.

Back Scratch – This is from the early spring when it was warm enough that she could be outside. The crazy thing is on the very first day of spring she wanted to go out. It’s as if she was saying “okay I’m done with being inside, I know the winter is over”. Once outside, Tilly was basking and my husband was scratching and petting her shell. She was loving it so much that she would move back and forth, as if she was literally dancing.
Hey you, “Open the Door!”– When Tilly is done for the day, she will literally walk up to our door and start banging to get our attention. If neither of us get there on time she will just sit and wait or start walking away. As soon as we open the door she heads back inside.
